I am talking about Mr. Narendra Kumar, 2009 batch IPS officer who was posted in Madhya Pradesh and was killed yesterday. People may ask why i write "exceptional uprightness". I write it intentionally. Because i do believe today people join this kind of esteemed services just because of glamour, glimpse and most importantly for money. There are very few who want to serve the nation and the public with pride and honour. Yes, Mr. Kumar was one of them and that is why he paid the price. Yesterday, we heard a lot of hollow promises. I knew all these investigations and all were just mere an eye wash- nothing more than that. And, yes the great administration of this great country proved me absolutely right. DIG, Gwalior range said today that it was not the case of illegal mining and no mafia is involved in this killing. And the truck driver was a farmer. Yesterday, Mr. Arnab Goswami asked a question that if a young boy or girl who is a civil service aspirant and is watching the telecast, what lesson he/she is getting from it??? Answer is very simple- Just be like the DIG or other top authorities(there are a lot like this). Don't ever try to be "exceptional" like Mr. Kumar. And then and only then you will get all the desired promotions, postings and will keep enjoying the privileges.
Question is for how long we have to put up with all these??? Answer is also simple- Till we wont wake up. Killing of this honest IPS is not a single incident. There are a number of Narendra Kumars' in this country. karkare, kamte, Dubey, Salaskar, Unnikrishnan, Meheta all are different forms of Narendra Kumar who all are the victims of this rotten system dominated by the political bosses at some point of time. Perspective can be different, but, the consequence is always same for these whistle blowers. Mr. Kumar's wife is expecting. What she will tell her son/daughter that his or her father got the gun salute. Is it enough to give the due to our brave hearts? Each and every day people from security forces get butchered in various parts of this country. What they get after sacrificing their life for the motherland!!!!! Gun salute, few money to the family, some condolences and some hollow promises from the political fraternity. And, sometime the martyr is "lucky" enough that the "busy" masses of this great country come on street and do candle march wasting their precious time for them.
Point is we have time for everything. we have time to go to pantaloons, kfc, inox and so on and on. We have time to discuss the "serious" issues like who is going to form the Government in Uttarakhand, when Sachin should retire or how Messi should play and effects of occupy Wallstreet and all. But, we certainly don't have time to think for the country even once for a day. And that is why our honorable political leaders do all the wrongdoings with pride. Mafias', Goondas' and others like them become so powerful with the help of political bosses that they start doing whatever they want. Political fraternity forget that they are just the representatives of the masses- nothing more than that. They start believing that they are the masters. No one is there to remind them the job they are supposed to do. Because we the great "responsible" citizens of this country are just the mute spectators- silent revolutionaries!!!!! Actually we, the Indians are taught from the childhood that don't need to be proactive to help others, that is why till the individual is not effected he/she does not react. We are taught how to compromise with all unjust and wrong and whatever is happening, just stay focused on the self gain and don't leave a stone unturned for that. Our constant endeavor is to reach the goal(most of the time set by our parents) any how. We are not only selfish but also biggest opportunists. But, still we are "responsible" and "educated" citizens.
Now, it is enough. We need to wake up. We have to save these whistle-blowers. And, these perpetrators should be taught a tough lesson. These goons should be neutralized brutally so others like them should be scared of. I know the balance of the "civilized" society can be disturbed by this then. Many "sensitive" human right organizations can have a problem(surprisingly they are mum on this issue), but, when you are dealing with animals, you should use the language they understand the best. we have to do this for the shake of this country. I really don't know when it will happen!? When we will wake up!? When the outrage will turn into a revolution!? What I know is that time has come and I am optimistic. We will fight and fight hard and will bring the proper change so that the people like Narendra Kumar wont die like this..... May God rest his soul and God bless his family.....
